I work at a cafe/bakery. Today, during the inauguration, the crew all went back to watch Obama's speech on a TV an employee had brought. It was also playing on the satellite radio in the cafe. There were two customers in the cafe, both reading the paper. I looked back into the commissary and saw everyone gathered around the TV, aptly watching the speech.
They were very happy, the buzz was in the air.
Myself? I was alone in the front, helping the one or two people who stopped in for coffee, waving off my co-workers when they checked to see if they needed to come back up.
The symbolism is so obvious it's actually humorous: the anarchist out front alone, while everyone else watches the new president's speech.
I didn't feel alone, however. It was just me, God, and some ideals. I've never felt freer.
