All the Libertarian News you can use!
Peter Schiff has been getting more airtime as people figure out that he had it right all along. One of his best appearances happened this week where he debated the auto bailout with Mayor of Lansing, Michigan.
Happy Repeal Day! Last Friday was the 75th anniversary of the repeal of prohibition. Drink up! (while you can)
One of the biggest news events of the week (and on the Internet) was the recent cop bust by Barry Cooper (nevergetbusted.com). The story blazed through the Internet and made the front page of Digg.com. A must see.
In UK crazy Government news, a man has been fined for swearing at his TV in his own home.
The Libertarian blogosphere lit-up with the recent news of Angela Keaton leaving her position at the Libertarian Party because of a conflict with her employer antiwar.com. The LP has taken criticism as being a watered-down GOP as of late. A letter issued by antiwar.com has been publicly released explaining why they did not want their employees being involved in such an organization.
In corrupt Government news, Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich appeared in Federal court on charges that the Governor was trying to sell the vacated Senate seat of Barack Obama. He was released on bail of $4,500. Big whoop.
The auto industry bailout has been stalled in the Senate. Many are blaming unions for holding up the passage of the bill. My prediction: not everyone was able to get their piece of the largess. The bill will go back to committee, by re-written to include all the goodies left out of the first bill, then passed.
With all the bailout news taking over the headlines, do you remember Iraq? The media sure doesn't seem to know that 98 people died this week.
That is it for this week, please send me your questions or comments here.
Blagojevich the Blatant would know how to get the Auto Bailout done in a heartbeat. Good Progressives spread the wealth.
